In the book, Nanberry British settlement was one of the main concepts of the story the aboriginals, were striped and taken away from their land and captured for slavery, if they had survived the small poxes. Nanberry was very lucky to have been treated the way he was treated. For the ones that were taken away for slavery and survived were forced into the white people’s religion and to wear there type of clothes and eat there type of food and do the type of things that the white people would usually do.
I believe that the aboriginals getting striped from there land wasn’t right imagine being stripped from your own home where you live, started a family, renovated on your own home and all just because the white people were stronger and had more man they just got to kick the aboriginal people out in my opinion that’s horrible and shouldn’t have been allowed.
Another thing that outraged me was how the aboriginals were dying from the small poxes and all the white people really cared about was the land they didn’t care about the aboriginal people at all, how would you feel if you were stripped from your own land and not cared for, once the aboriginal people were off the land they either died from small pox, became slaves or were torched and in my opinion that’s disgraceful and shouldn’t have been allowed.
Therefore, I think that the white people should have had more respect and more care for the aboriginal people and their land the fact that the white people just wanted the land and didn’t care about the aboriginal people at all and they shouldn’t have treated them with such disrespect and betrayal to the aboriginal people.
